IMPORTANT UPDATES REGARDING THE COVID-19 CORONAVIRUS
March 18, 2020
Dear Friends and Clients,
These are unique times and call for unique actions as we all determine the best approach to our own safety and the safety of our loved ones. The uncertainty due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is causing many changes in our daily lives. The team at CAS wants you to know that we understand this and we wish to minimize the disruptions these changes are causing as we try to provide outstanding service, but at the same time we need to address the reality of this unpleasant situation.
With these thoughts in mind, and with an abundance of caution, CAS has decided to temporarily halt all in-person meetings at our office and we are also considering allowing our staff members to work remotely. As most of you are aware, over the years we have made considerable investments in technology. We have the systems in place that allow our team to work remotely with the same levels of security and access that we experience in our office for situations such as this one. If you have any concerns about data security, please contact us and we will be happy to share the precautions we have taken.
We believe this is an appropriate level of action to mitigate the spread of the virus and provide for the health and safety of our clients, team, and all of our loved ones.
We are requesting that you utilize one of our secure electronic communication methods (portals, share file, or Inuit Link). Please do not send us information via unsecure email, we will not be able to accept it. If you need help with any of our secure electronic communication methods please let us know we will be happy to assist you. If you need to drop off information please use the mail slot on our front door. We will be accepting information via US mail as well. If you require special accommodations for pick up or delivery of documents please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you. For the time being, we will not be able to accommodate requests for in person meetings.
You will continue to be able to communicate with us via telephone, secure email, and video conferencing. For quite some time these have been the preferred methods of communication chosen by our clients, you should notice no difference in the high quality level of service you have grown to expect from us.
We anticipate that the IRS and Department of Treasury will take actions to extend April 15th payment due date, but we believe the April 15 filing due date will remain unchanged. Our opinion is based on comments made by President Trump last week, and more recent comments by the Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin, we are hopeful for the issuance of a formal announcement soon.
We will keep you informed on these matters as new information becomes available.
We know that each of you are facing your own challenges based on the impact of COVID-19 on workplaces, schools, and family circumstances. Please let us know if there is any way that the CAS team can assist you during this time.
Like all evolving challenges, we will work through issues on a day-by-day basis and appreciate you working with us as we strive to provide the service you expect from our team.
Please do not hesitate to contact our office with any questions or concerns. Call us at 773-725-9500 or email us at email@example.com.
